CAPABILITIES

Punching & Laser Cutting
Nu-Way provides sheet metal forming and sheet metal punching profiling services. Our Des Plaines facility has numerous CNC punch press and CNC laser cutting processes along shearing technology equipment.
Nu-Way utilizes the latest in CNC High kW output fiber and CO2 laser cutting technology to profile your sheet metal products; capable of processing material sheets up to 5’x 10’ and cut metal over ½” thick. Some of our cutters are equipped with auto loading and unloading stations to maximize efficiency and throughput.

Stamping, Forming & Pressed Hardware
For our customers requiring repeatable and high part volume orders, our hard-tool punch press (stamping) processes are ideal for meeting the demand and quality expectations. Customers looking for low volume prototypes to medium volume fabrication orders can leverage our press brake equipment supported by a large soft-tooling library.
Nu-Way skilled operators combined with our state-of-the-art precision press brake forming equipment (with programmable back gauging and LCD displays) have the ability to hold tight forming tolerances and perfect bend angles utilizing precision ground high quality soft tooling.
Pressed hardware is a low cost method for adding threaded features to your sheet metal products. Nu-Way’s hardware insertion technology and equipment can be set up with automatic hardware feeders when threaded hardware count is high. Nu-Way uses premier brand press hardware for leading manufactures that delivers excellent reliability, performance, and finishes.

Metal Joining
Nu-Way’s conventional welding services include MIG, TIG, Spot, and Tack applications. Nu-Way’s welding staff are practiced at welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum and they take great pride in their work to ensure a high quality finished product.
Nu-Way utilizes the most advanced robotic welding technology to join sheet metal products for its customers utilizing MIG, TIG, and Laser based technologies. Robotic welding automation adds speed, versatility, and unmatched quality to Nu-Way’s welding services while producing aesthetically pleasing welds without the need for post processing. In most cases, resulting in increased efficiency and processing cost advantages.
We also use alternative joining technologies, including clinching joints and high bond adhesives in applications where welding is not always possible or economical.

Machining
Nu-Way Industries, Inc. has offered machining services for over 20 years utilizing state-of-the-art CNC milling and CNC lathe technology. Our Des Plaines, IL facility also houses saw cutting, manual drill/tapping, and manual milling/lathe equipment. We have years of experience cutting a variety of materials including composites, phenolics, aluminum, low carbon Steel, tool steels, and stainless steels. Our customers can easily consolidate both their sheet metal and machining based supply chain products with Nu-Way and provides additional product design flexibility when components require higher precision/tolerances over sheet metal fabrication process.

Finishing Solutions
Nu-Way has two five stage powder coat finishing conveyor lines utilizing industry leading pre-treatment/cleaning chemistries and numerous high quality powder coating raw materials. In addition to the dual conveyor lines – our finishing dept has a large batch both and oven set to powder large enclosures and/or structures. All powder coating areas are controlled with automation and we monitor for proper finishing characteristics with spectrophotometer and other finish qualifying equipment.
Many of our outdoor enclosure customers require high performance powder coating that will stand against nature for many years. Solar, salt, and water will attack metal outdoor enclosures. Our finishing capabilities and years of experience in outdoor finish protection – will keep your product looking like new decades after outdoor exposure.
Along with powder coating services – our organization provides silk screening, decal printing and application services, and can also manage many types of plating finishes with our local 3rd party approved plating service providers.

Electro/Mechanical Assembly
For the past thirty years, Nu-Way has provided contract mechanical assembly services and similarly provided electro-mechanical services for the last twenty years within its capability portfolio. We provide high-level product integration of products such as enclosures, kiosks, frames assemblies, control panels, DIN-rail mounted control systems, display enclosures, battery cabinets, and cellular service control cabinets. In conjunction with these high level assembly services; Nu-Way has the staff, equipment, and expertise in assembling ESD sensitive components in our static control room.
Many of the assemblies produced by Nu-Way require EOL/in-process testing, finished good and component serial number control, quality assurance tracking, and regulatory agency standard compliance. Our tester, auditor, inspection clerk, and engineering staff are able to support all these value added tasks as needed to insure the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
